Commencement, May 2010

On Sunday, May 16th, the GSAPP faculty, staff, and Dean recognized this year’s graduates at a celebration in the Life Sciences building, followed by afternoon Commencement at the Voorhees Mall on the College Avenue Campus. During the reception awards were presented to two of the graduates.

Parent
The Cyril Franks Award is presented to the graduating student whose doctoral dissertation evidences outstanding scholarship and reflects GSAPP’s standard of excellence. This year’s award went to Andrea Parent.The dissertation title was: Effects of a Comprehensive Substance Use Prevention Program with Urban Adolescents.”

Foster
The Robert Weitz Award is presented to the graduating student whose energy, spirit, and enthusiasm evidence a dedication and willingness to work in the interests of professional psychology and the people it serves. This year’s award went to Jennifer Foster for her excellent work in promoting the mental health of children in the Perth Amboy schools.

In 2010 there were 32 graduates, 10 from the clinical program, 17 from the school program and 5 from the organizational program.

There were also 7 students who were graduating pending completion of internship (all other requirements completed). Of these students 6 were from the clinical program and 1 was from the school program.
