From its inception, professional training at GSAPP has reflected a systematic integration of scholarly knowledge, research and clinical practice. By design, GSAPP’s teaching and supervising staff includes full-time academic faculty members and part-time practicing psychologists, whose aim is to integrate theory, research and practice. Visiting faculty are active in state, national and international associations and publish and present their professional work at psychology conferences.
Visiting faculty spend one or two days at GSAPP teaching, supervising and advising students as well as serving on administrative and academic committees. As licensed psychologists, visiting faculty frequently supervise assessment, psychotherapy and organizational consulting cases through the Psychological Clinic as well as conduct supervision groups.
