Judith Glassgold’s interests include gender, sexual orientation, social action, diversity, and ethics. She has published and presented widely in this area, especially as related to psychotherapy. Dr. Glassgold has co-edited the following books: Activism & LGBT Psychology (2007), Lesbians, Feminism & Psychoanalysis: The second wave (2003), and Lesbians & Psychoanalysis: Revolutions in Theory and practice (1995). Her major journal articles and presentations are on clinical practice and LGBT issues, especially in psychodynamic psychotherapy, religion and sexual orientation, and ethics in psychotherapy. Glassgold has served in leadership positions in state and national associations. In 2008 she will serve as President of the New Jersey Psychological Association, having served as Chair of the Ethics Committee from 2003-2006. She is currently Chair of the APA Presidential Task Force on Appropriate Therapeutic Responses for Sexual Orientation. In 2003, Glassgold served as President of Division 44 of the American Psychological Association. She is a fellow of American Psychological Association (Divisions 34 & 44). In 2006, Dr. Glassgold was awarded the GSAPP Peterson Prize for her contributions to professional psychology.
