Message from the Chair, Department of School Psychology

Welcome to the School Psychology Program at Rutgers University. School psychologists work with individuals, groups, schools, and school districts to support the emotional, social, and academic development of students.

The School Psychology Program at Rutgers emphasizes use of practices and programs that are research-based. The program also emphasizes understanding of the role of context and systems in psychological and educational functioning.

Our program integrates classroom-based learning with numerous opportunities for practice of professional skills through practicum experiences in public schools and a variety of other settings that serve the mental health and educational needs of children and youth.

We have outstanding faculty members, and our students are enthusiastic and highly qualified.
