Welcome to the Research Page!
Depression affects many youth. As such, there is a need for research examining the development of depression in youth and the efficacy of depression prevention programs in decreasing the risk of depression over time. The Institute for Research on Youth Depression and Prevention is dedicated to the rigorous investigation of empirically based prevention programs, included Interpersonal Psychotherapy-Adolescent Skills Training (IPT-AST), developed by principal investigator Dr. Jami F. Young. Our lab currently runs the Personalized Depression Prevention (PDP) project, which is an NIMH-funded randomized control trial of depression prevention programs.
