The DDDC exists to meet the needs of people with autism spectrum disorders and their families. As an ABA program, we use these principles to organize our delivery of services. We recognize that it is our responsibility to work collaboratively with the families of the children and adults we serve, and with the agencies that fund their treatment. As a university-based program, our commitment includes the education of undergraduate and graduate students and the dissemination of knowledge through research, training, and consultative services. We also strive to provide information about the treatment and education of people with autism spectrum disorders to the entire professional community and to the general public. In addition, we are committed to furthering the understanding of the nature and treatment of autism spectrum disorders through research.

Sandra Harris
Executive Director
Sandra L. Harris is a Board of Governors Distinguished Service Professor of Clinical Psychology Emerita at GSAPP and the Department of Psychology in SAS. She is also executive director of the Douglass Developmental Disabilities Center, a university-based program for the treatment of children with autism. Her research and clinical interests focus on people with autism and their families.

Dr. Jan Sheldon
Director
Dr. Jan Sheldon Handleman earned his doctoral degree in special education from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, in 1977. He was the Director of the Douglass Developmental Disabilities Center of Rutgers University and Professor of Psychology for the Graduate School of Applied and Professional Psychology for over 35 years. more

Associate Director
Lara Delmolino is a Clinical Associate Professor at the Graduate School of Applied and Professional Psychology at Rutgers University and serves as the Assistant Director the Douglass Developmental Disabilities Center. Dr. Delmolino teaches graduate courses in Applied Behavior Analysis, pursues research interests in the application of ABA teaching methods in Autism, and conducts clinical work in assessment and diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorders.
