Practicum and Courses
Community Psychology Practicum:
One semester, one day per week. Subject to approval of CPC Practicum Subcommittee based on brief student proposal of community relevance of the practicum.
Courses Required:
- Program Planning & Evaluation: two
semesters
- Core courses currently required for all GSAPP students that have a community focus:
- Community Psychology
- Psychological Interventions Ethnic & Racial Minority Clients and Families; or, Diversity and Racial Identity

Theoretical Foundations
of Intervention: Organizational
- Choice of one of the
following:
- Crisis Intervention
- Adult Learning & Training
- Innovation Implementation and School Change
- Family Therapy
- Consultation Methods
- Qualitative Research Methods
- Severe Mental Illness
- Course from another Rutgers unit such as Public Health or PH.D. Psychology (Strength-Based Consultation to Religious, Public Education, and Private Education Settings: A Community Psychology Approach) approved by CPC faculty.
Encouraged:
A Community Psychology Dissertation approved by CPC subcommittee based on brief student proposal of community relevance. Committee must include one of the listed Community Psychology faculty.
